6.14.1- Does the lender have any further requirements in relation to buildings insurance? [ Original answer is blank ] Yes - where we do not arrange the insurance, you must:
*arrange that the insurance cover starts from no later than completion;
check that the amount of buildings insurance cover is at least the amount referred to in the valuation report. If the property is part of a larger building and there is a common insurance policy, the total sum insured for the building must be not less than the total number of flats multiplied by the amount set out in the valuation report for the property. If this is not the case, please contact whoever issued the offer/instructions;
*ensure that the buildings insurance cover is index linked;
ensure that the excess does not exceed the amount of £1000 (for any risks including subsidence);
